Abstract

Addressing the limitations of traditional visitor management systems that lack resident-controlled visitor access, this final year project will propose an Android app-based solution designed to enhance security and convenience within residential buildings or other fields who need the system. Modules for the system integrate car plate recognition, visitor access permissions by resident, and parking reservation for visitors. In this project, the main problem is to simplify the visitor process manually and enhance the security with a reasonable cost. Hence, By empowering residents to grant temporary access passes to visitors for authorizing their visitor access, car plate image capture technique for AI recognition, automating entry/exit records, and optimizing parking resources, this system aims to deliver a more secure, efficient, and user-friendly experience for management(security guard), residents and visitors. The system will be developed using an incremental model as a software process model. Next, the mobile application will be developed using Kotlin with Android Studio while the artificial intelligence model is trained with Python language, to achieve the car plate image capture technique in the system, deep learning such as convolutional neural networks (CNN) will be involved. This project aims to deliver a secure, efficient, and user-friendly solution that simplifies visitor management and optimizes parking resources, ensuring improved security and convenience for both residents and visitors.
