Abstract
Poor parking facilities are also an important concern affecting the effectiveness and experience of urban university users. Students at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TARUMT) in Kuala Lumpur have been troubled due to a lack of parking space on campus. The research questions are as follows: 1) to identify the parking stress faced by students, 2) to identify the driver's behaviours in parking, 3) to identify consequences of lack of parking spaces, and 4) to mitigate solutions for optimising parking space utilisation. The causes of parking stress are also identified and explained, including time constraints, insufficient parking availability, and the resulting annoyance and disruptions to academics. The quantitative research design was used, with a standardized questionnaire distributed to the students through online platforms. The information received from 175 respondents was analysed using Descriptive Statistic Analysis and the Relative Important Index (RII). The descriptive analysis revealed the parking stresses faced by students, driver's behaviours in parking, consequences of lack of parking spaces, and optimising parking space utilisation. The RII analysis determined the significant drivers' behaviours in parking and the most critical solution for optimising parking space utilisation. One of the study's major problems is that non-probability judgmental sampling was utilized, which limits the generalizability of the findings. To improve the validity of future studies, one should consider using the probability sampling method and a larger sample size. A qualitative study that includes interviews with campus management may also yield further information regarding the logistical and policy challenges associated with the implementation of the proposed remedies
