Abstract
This project is a home security system that applies the Internet of things (IoT) technology to enable a wireless connection in the system to communicate with the user. The concept of IoT will use the internet as a medium to carry out data and information transmission and receiving between the home alarm system and the user. The project was chosen as this sort of system is has a significant improvement and advantage as compares to currently existing home security system that can be commonly found. These systems are unable to alert the user in any case through a wireless medium. The user has to be nearby or in their home to notice the alarm going off. The wireless connection allows the user to be notified of any unusual activity around the house almost immediately after it occurs, and the user can take action accordingly such as contacting the police or relevant authorities. The technologies that will be used to carry out this project is an assortment of sensors connected to a main control board and applies the IoT technology for wireless a notification where the user can receive it on a smartphone. This project also looks to further improve home security and give the home alarm system users a sense of security when they are not at home. Besides that, the IoT home security system is reliable as well as power and cost effective.
