Abstract
In Malaysia, the weather changes quickly and unexpectedly, it can swing from hot sunshine to heavy weather within a minute. This often causes problems for people who are away from home and can’t react to the sudden shift in conditions. To address this issue, these studies aim to create a smart clothing drying rack using microcontroller-based Embedded system. This system allows to automatic protect clothes from getting wet by detecting the weather conditions. The system will be developed using ESP32 module microcontrollers and involved sensors measurement such as humidity, temperature, light intensity and rainfall to get environmental data. Based on the real-time data, the rack can automatically retract to shield your clothes from getting wet. Once the weather clears and becomes suitable, the rack extends again to resume its function. Additionally, at the top and side gracefully closes during rain, offering extra protection and ensuring the clothes remain same and dry. Moreover, the rack is equipped with motorized wheels that allow the rack to move smoothly along guide tracks to a sheltered area. The provided tracks are used to ensure the rack stays on path, controlling the rack movement. Clothes after rain is expected to notify users with the accuracy status via their smartphone, allowing users to collect clothes dry or continue drying the laundry. The system accurately detects weather condition, which recording drying process and reminding the users when available to collect their clothes. As a result, this system provides users with flexible control over clothes drying, either automatically through sensors decision or manual from a distance, simplify daily routines and provided efficiency
