Abstract

This project develops a smart home system by utilizing gesture-based control to provide convenient for household appliances. The system uses ESP32 microcontrollers in master-slave configuration, communicating via ESP-NOW protocol. The master node integrates with gyroscope-based sensor for gesture recognition and IR transmitter for appliance targeting. To ensure high accuracy and reduce noises, filters is implemented. Kalman Filter was selected for its ability to predict the system state and minimize measurement noise by sensor fusion. Hand gesture data is processed by the slave, transmitted from master to trigger specific actions. The system is developed in C++ with much stable performance towards recognition of hand gesture
