Abstract
Maintaining stable water temperature is critical for aquatic life, yet manual methods are inconvenient and commercial smart systems are expensive. This project aims to develop a low-cost, IoT-enabled automatic temperature control fish tank. The methodology utilizes an ESP8266 Wi-Fi microcontroller integrated with a DS18B20 waterproof sensor to monitor real-time conditions. For temperature regulation, a 240VAC submersible heater and a custom TEC1-12706 Peltier cooling module were implemented. Users can remotely monitor data and adjust the target temperature via a local web server interface. Experimental results demonstrated that the system successfully maintained the water temperature within a precise ±1 °C deadband. Thermal response tests on 2.5-Liter and 5.0- Liter water volumes confirmed reliable heating and cooling capabilities with minimal temperature overshoot. Furthermore, the system exhibited robust offline fail-safe operations during network disconnections. The entire prototype was developed for exactly RM 236.10, successfully achieving a highly affordable, safe, and efficient smart aquarium management solution
