Abstract
The development of the technology has advanced rapidly over time. Nowadays, the use of solar panels in residential areas is commonly increasing. However, many of the mounting systems for the solar panels are designed in large sizes which make them suitable only for the rooftop or ground that have a large area. This issue also affects small scale systems that use solar panels for the power source as it will increase the space required for the systems. Therefore, this project aims to design and develop a rollable space optimized solar panel mounting system for small scale application. The main objective of the project is to create a space optimized and automated mounting system that can protect the surface of the solar panels. This system utilizes a DC motor, Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensors and limit switch to automatically extend or retract the solar panel blind based on the sunlight intensity. The methodology includes selecting the suitable component, designing of the system and creating a block diagram of the system. With this approach, the system can operate efficiently by extending and retracting the solar panel blind based on the sunlight intensity. This system is designed to be a space optimization, safety, low maintenance complexity and easy for installation
