Abstract

This project proposes the design and development of an Automatic Mobile Robot with Obstacle Detection for Load Carrying to improve material handling efficiency in warehouse and industrial environments. The load platform enables the mobile robot to carry and transport objects on a flat surface, reducing manual effort and enhancing workplace safety. Several sensing technologies were studied, including ultrasonic, infrared, bump sensors, and 2D LiDAR combined with RGB cameras. Their advantages and disadvantages were analyzed to identify the most suitable configuration for reliable obstacle detection and navigation. The project emphasizes not only technical performance, but also considerations of public health and safety, societal impact, environmental sustainability, and ethical responsibility. The work is structured in two main phases: project planning, including literature reviewand proposal preparation, followed by implementation, consisting of parts acquisition, assembly, testing, and reporting. The proposed system aims to provide a cost-effective, safe, and sustainable solution for automated load transportation
