Abstract

This project presents the design and development of an automatic mopping robot aimed at reducing manual cleaning effort and improving efficiency in household cleaning. Traditional mopping methods are time-consuming and require continuous human involvement which motivates the need for an automated solution. The system is developed using an Arduino Uno R4 WiFi microcontroller as the main controller. Ultrasonic sensors are used for obstacle detection, while a servo motor enables scanning of the surroundings. The robot is driven by DC motors controlled through a motor driver and a water pump is integrated to supply water to the mop header for cleaning purposes. The circuit design and implementation are carried out to ensure proper interaction between all components. The robot is capable of autonomous movement, obstacle avoidance and basic mopping functionality. Overall, the developed system demonstrates a simple, cost-effective and practical approach to automated floor cleaning
