Abstract

This project proposes the development of a Society & Event Management System aimed at streamlining the planning and execution of student-led activities at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology. The system addresses the limitations of the current event management process, which lacks centralised event promotion, efficient helper scheduling, and structured attendance tracking. To achieve this, the project adopts the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach, including requirements gathering through surveys, system modelling with UML diagrams, and development using Flutter as a single-platform framework with Firebase Firestore for real-time data synchronisation. Key modules include an interactive event dashboard with dual registration capabilities, a shift-based helper scheduling system with automatic assignment algorithms, an attendance tracking feature with qualified attendee aggregation, and RSVP management functionality for participant coordination. The system eliminates traditional administrative approval workflows, enabling committee members to directly create, publish, and manage events whilst providing students with immediate registration capabilities for both helper and participant roles. By enhancing the clarity, accessibility, and management of society activities through real-time collaborative features, the system aims to increase student engagement and participation in campus events. The implementation successfully delivers a functional platform that consolidates event discovery, volunteer coordination, and attendance management into a unified digital solution for university societies.
