Abstract
Personal finance management remains challenging for young adults who struggle with traditional expense tracking methods that are time-consuming, error-prone, and lack intelligent insights. This project develops a Smart Budget and Expense Tracking App that integrates artificial intelligence with modern mobile technology to revolutionize personal financial management. The application encompasses expense tracking, intelligent budget management, income monitoring, multi-currency support, and AI-powered analytics, targeting Tunku Abdul Rahman University students and expanding to young professionals. Development employed Agile methodology with Flutter framework for cross-platform mobile development, Firebase for backend services, and external APIs for currency exchange rates. Testing included 60 test cases across six modules and user acceptance testing with 100 survey participants. The system delivers real-time expense tracking with AI insights, automated budget monitoring with alerts, predictive analytics, multi-currency support with location detection, and secure cloud synchronization. The project demonstrates technical excellence while providing practical value for intelligent financial management. The application establishes a foundation for future enhancements and proves the feasibility of AI-enhanced personal finance applications, achieving objectives of simplifying expense tracking and promoting financial literacy through an intuitive, secure mobile platform.
