Abstract

Purpose : I would like to create a project where the purpose is to able help user to send message with hands-free and this had achieved in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours). Some situation like driving is dangerous when user try to send out a message with using their hand while driving but if an application able to help you send a message with hands-free is very helpful to driver. Scope : The application that I did at the end was not only able to help user to send message to people but also can help user to call people, open camera, open application, and search on web. All this function is to provide services when user are not free to use their hands. The application able to detect the services request, provide action as according to services and read the content as what user want. Methodology : During the project cycle, we decided to use questionnaire as our requirement gathering from and views from public. The information that we collected from questionnaire is be used for decision making on further software development purpose. But area that I need to focus was the accuracy on how well the voice recognition that I had implemented. In order to know the accuracy, some experimental test and functional testing had be carried out. Development phases : Inside this project development, I had implement some development phase where it used to help me to build out my application. The first phase of the development is to addressing the risk in the developing phase, where I will analyze what will be the risk of the application for voice recognition be and I found out the most critical risk is environment noisiness. Thru the analysis, I had found out some solution. After the risk analyze phase had done, then I will start to implement and develop the system and meanwhile also will apply the solution had found in the previous phase. For the lastly phase which is a testing phase, where I need to test on the risk on the application that I had built in term of accuracy and performance. The outcome of testing is good as expected. Assessment criteria used : The project assessment had gone through by testing on how well the voice recognition are in term of accuracy and performance. Results : The result of the accuracy is better than the expected and the function also perform well as expected. Conclusions and Recommendations : From the going through of develop the application, I had found out some problem with the open source voice recognition and in the process of solving the problem of that, I had learn a lot of ways or solution on how to improve the accuracy and performance of voice recognition. Even though I still not able to create the best of the voice recognition but this issue can be increased in future development by further discuss or deeper understanding how the voice recognition can be work.
