Abstract
Purpose : The main purpose of carrying this project is to enhance the quality of the restaurant services in both customers and restaurant owner or staff perspectives. It allows the restaurant services can be utilized by using mobile and web application. Besides that, it also is able to provide an integrated system to the restaurant business which included all the general restaurant services. Scope : This project provide two platforms which included mobile and web platforms to different users to utilize restaurant services by using technology. In this project, it provides table reservation, food ordering, food recommendation, table management and payment modules to the users. Table reservation provides the table availability searching and time suggestion in real time. It also allows the customers to make reservation for different restaurant in anytime. Food ordering provides three types of ordering which are included pre-order, on-site order, and delivery order. It also allows business owners to customize the food menus. Food recommendation provides the searching restaurant information, suggestion restaurant, and restaurant with specific category. Table management provides the real time updating table information to the users and allows the customers to join waiting list. Payment allows the users to make the payment, and provides the next deadline of each payment. Methodology : This project use the Waterfall Development Model to design and develop the system which is easier to use and understand. The tools used are the Survey Monkey and Google Search for conducting the fact record. Besides that, the tools used in developing the proposed system are included Visual Studio, Android Studio and the 000webhost server. The techniques used in gathering fact are questionnaires and study on similar system to obtain the correct requirement of the users. Development phases : This project is needed to gather the requirements of the users at first to make sure the all the proposed requirements are correct. Then, translate the requirements into architecture design to understand easily and can be referenced during development period. Then, code and develop the system physically. During the development phase, it is needed to produce the database first before coding the function of the project. At the same time, there are some testing are conducted to make sure the system run properly. Assessment criteria used : This project is conducted three types of testing which are included unit testing, integrate testing and system testing. This project is tested for table reservation, food ordering, food recommendation, table management, payment, user maintenance and the security features. Results : The achievement of this project is able to enhance the quality of the restaurant services in both customers, restaurant owners and staff perspectives. Users can utilize the functions of this system via online and real time update. This project also provided the customizable integrated system to the restaurant owners to operate their businesses. The strength of the end product is able to provide table reservation with time suggested and suggestion restaurant to the customers. The performance of this project is the weakness of the end product since most of the functions are needed to use images to deliver the information. Conclusions and Recommendations : How does performing this project help the author learn and apply knowledge ? Any suggestions for future improvement ? Through this project, it allows us to learn some new technologies which are used in developing the system. Since we are using the server via online, so we also learnt the knowledge of using online servers to access the data and transferring the data between two platforms to the users. The future improvement of this project is able to allow the customers to join the table and separate the amount of bills for each person although in same the table. It also is needed to provide the alternative option of table reserving to the customers which are included group reservation and event reservation. Lastly, this project can provides the service button call to waitress in mobile application in future
