Abstract

This research is examined the problematic mobile phone use factor among TARUC students. There are 130 of degree student from different programs that participated in this study. Students were asked to complete a survey that consists of Mobile Phone Problem Use Scale (MPPUS), UCLA Loneliness and Big-Five Factor Marker. Along with these test, students were asked to complete a demographic data that asked question like gender. The data was collected through a series of questionnaire from a convenience sampling of 130 students within Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARUC). Most of the result obtained from the data, using the Independent Samples T-Test and Pearson correlation coefficient. The results show that there was a significant positive relationship between problematic mobile phone use and loneliness; significant negative relationship between problematic mobile phone use and neuroticism and insignificant positive relationship between problematic mobile phone use and extraversion. There is no significant gender difference in the level of problematic mobile phone use.
