Abstract

This dissertation is about the integration of SCADA and PLCs in FMS 200 with standard industrial communication protocol and networking. It is an industrial based project and serves for educational purpose. At first, the electrical diagrams will be drawn and constructed. Then, the main power supply, input module of PLC and output module of PLC will be built based on the electrical diagrams. After that, the ladder diagram for the PLC will be designed. The ladder diagram is designed for the conveyor process. The input table and output table will be assigned and constructed. Besides that, the HostLink communication will be constructed by using Visual Basic. It will serve as a medium between the host computer and the PLC for communication purpose. At last, the networking linkage between the PLCs and all the working stations in FMS 200 unit DeviceNet for data collection and data sharing purpose will be established. The configuration of PLC will be done by CX-Integrator.
