Abstract

What is a Quadruped Robot? It is a robot that walks with four limbs inspired by insects. Wheeled robots are efficient on flat surfaces but legged robots are better in rough terrain negotiating besides providing itself with better stability. The potential of a miniature Quadruped can be used in many fields but it generally provides one common function and that is reconnaissance or in other words, collecting informations of places a person could not reach. Information being a priceless and powerful commodity these days as a lot of operations runs based on its completeness. This project looks into the common problem in miniature Quadrupeds and tries to solve them. It aims to modify a conventional miniature Quadruped design to make it more durable or to be able to sustain damages without affecting the core components. Among the modifications made is the design of the actuators which is now biologically inspired. It allows the Quadruped to be more effective to be employed into harsh environment and can be easily fixed through 3D Printing or replacing common electronic parts.
