Abstract

The project of this dissertation is mainly about the study of the benefits of green building toward the end users in Malaysia. The aim of the research is to study the economic and non-economic benefits of green building toward end users in Malaysia. The objectives of this research are to determine the criteria of green building, to identify the area of potential cost saving in green building and investigate the benefits of green building toward the end users in Malaysia. Literature review and questionnaire survey had been chosen as the research methodology to achieve the objectives in this project. 120 sets of questionnaire have been distributed and there are only 32 set (28%) replied from the respondents. The targets of the respondents are based on the green building end users. The purpose of the questionnaire is to provide the evidence for the theory part of literature review is identical with the result of the questionnaire. As a conclusion, most of the occupants have agreed that the green building has brought a lot of benefits toward them and may provide the area of potential cost saving toward the end users. Thus, all the construction parties should take note on it and try to emphasize the green concept to the future development.
