Abstract
This project is carried out with the purpose of introducing a new gadget of controlling the electrical applications. The main objective of this project is to design a new type of controlling method to help any kind of people especially disabled people for the ease of switching the electrical applications. The motivation of this idea is that disabled people suffered inconvenience or difficulty to control electrical applications. Gadgets are mostly costly to some of the disabled people who cannot afford to buy it, for example, bionic arm. Moreover, bionic arm may poses side effects if incorrect instalment on user’s body part. Thus, gyro switch controller is designed to overcome this kind of problems. A similar technology with gyro switch controller was the motion sensor switch, which is introduced in the current market to allow automatically control the switching process by the detection form sensors. The automatic switching is possible with the aid of sensors which detect motion or occupancy within a room. Gyro switch controller is designed to meet the current demand of disabled people. Basically, gyro switch controller is controllable by the user’s head to select which module is activated. LCD module is also added in to give visualization to the user for better controlling. Research has been done on the control signals, detection of gyro switch controller, sensitivity of gyro switch controller and other possible methods to create this gadget. This project provides more alternative ways in helping the disabled people to overcome daily task, for example switching on or off the light. However, hardware limitations pose inconvenience to users who preferred small in size and easy to take off. Thus, more rescaling and testing as well as redesigning are likely to be performed in the future to allow Gyro switch controller to be introduced to the market in future.
