Abstract

When come to car parking system people will concern on the automation such as automatic gate actuator because the technology enables thing to be done automatically. Thus, the aim of this project is to develop a car parking system that can control the gate automatically and using computer based to manage the operation. The Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is used to increase the efficiency of the car parking system. The RFID reader, namely the single-tag reader is used to control the motor actuator(gate) operation because user just need to scan their RFID tag that are unique for every user to control the gate open and close. Besides that, the LCD display provides a user interface which enable user to know the condition at the entrance such as the gate condition and the car parking lot availability. The sensor is used to detect the availability of the car at the entrance which is giving feedback to the motor to control the gate. Besides that, all the components which consists of servo motor, sensor, LED, and LCD are fully controlled by PICI 6F877A microcontrollers which has 40pins included of 23 input and output pins. The microcontroller is programmed using MPLAB Integrated Development Environment (IDE) with C language in this project. USB-UART communication is used in this project for the interfacing between computer (VB2010) and Microcontroller 16F877A).
