Abstract

This project is aimed to develop a digital type of advertisement board namely Roadside RGB LED Matrix Advertisement Board By using MBED Microcontroller. Visual Studio 2008 is used to develop the Graphic User interface (GUI) for the 8X8 RGB LED dot Matrix to draw simple graphic messages. After the simple graphic and simple message has been drawn, the GUI will then help to convert into ASCII code for programming used. For the prototype of the Roadside RGB LED Matrix Advertisement Board, an MBED Microcontroller is used, which contains the ability to send out the signal bit by bit to the 8X8 RGB LED dot Matrix and then display out the messages or graphic. Besides that, it also contains the ability to change the messages or graphic itself in order to display different messages or graphic.
