Abstract
The main objective of this project is to develop a system that can identify the different types of electronic components. The graphic user interface of this software consists of five buttons which can allow the user to interact with the system. Besides that, there are six spaces allocated for displaying the process of the system. After finish processing the result will shows at the bottom side. The input image which selected by the user first will be enhanced by several enhancement methods, such as contrast adjustment, different types of filters and noise removal. Once finish the enhancement, the system will detect the edge of the objects and the number of the objects found in the image. Lastly, the system will calculate the parameters that can be obtained from the image and compare the result which stored in the database. If database do not has the record, the system will allow the user to add in new types of electronic components to the database for the future uses
