Abstract

Autonomous parking system is mainly about a car or vehicle that can parallel park in a tight spot of parking space all by itself. For this project, Autonomous parallel self- parking prototypes for four-wheel vehicle is designed and developed. The prototype developed is capable to find the adequate size of parking space and being able to reverse as well as park itself into the parking space. In addition, the prototype will also capable to auto park out from the parking slot. This project system consists of both hardware and software modules. The prototype is controlled by a PIC 16F877A. It acts as the brain of the project which makes decision and controls the servo motors automatically based on the program in the chip. It is then equipped with standard servo motor for front wheel shaft and continuous servo motor back wheel gear speed control. The standard servo motor is also used for turning the DYP-ME007 ultrasonic sensor of 40 KHz to detect the surrounding. The system mainly works in three phase. First, the adequate size of parking space is detected by the ultrasonic sensor mounted on the car. At the same time, a monitoring screen of this parking space depth found is display and a message is sent to user. Assuming user enter "yes" for taking this parking space depth and then enter "yes" command for auto-parking. Therefore, second phase is executing parallel parking with the plotting surrounding mode graph which will present as a virtually top view in monitor. Lastly is while in auto-park out maneuvering phase form the parking slot it will display on the monitor the output Auto Parking mode with data on distance and angle of the position servo motor.
