Abstract

ISO, as known as International Organization for Standardization is one of the hottest issue in any industries. Standardization of manufacturing process grants clear and identifiable references that are recognize globally and encourage fair competition among companies. The global adoption of ISO 9001 :2000 has made significant changes on the manufacturing industries. Not only implement ISO 9001 :2000 gave company or organization better competitive advantages, ISO also ensure the satisfactions of the customers when receive their products and services, and improving quality on a continuing basis. In particular, ISO 9001 has been viewed as one of most important quality assurance programs of last few decades. The objectives of the research is to identity the critical success factors and perceived benefits of implementing ISO 9001 :2000 in Quality Management System in manufacturing Industries, and also the relationship between critical success factors and perceived benefits. To carry out the research, literature review and questionnaires survey was done. Literature review was needed to define the dependent variables and independent variables. Questionnaire surveys were distribute to the manufacturing industries that successfully implemented ISO 9001 :2000 in Malaysia. Data gained were then analyzed by SPSS software and the results revealed the relationship between critical success factors and with the perceived benefits of ISO 9001 :2000 implementation. An ISO 9001 :2000 success factor model was built based of the research findings.
