Abstract

This project is to build a Graphical User Interface that will communicate with UAV to perform flight analysis and monitoring with on-the-ground diagnostic and calibration capabilities. The main objective of this project is to develop a user friendly software graphical interface with key functions of real time analysis via time graph. The PID control theory is applied in this project in order to complete the task of monitoring the UAV from ground station. Microsoft Visual C# is used to develop the whole graphical user interface and the main algorithm for Microsoft Visual C# is on serial port communication. XBee will be used as the wireless modem to connect the UAV and GUI from ground. Therefore, the GUI that developed using Microsoft Visual C# must be can dealt with wireless communication which is almost the same with the algorithm of serial port communication. Other than this, RS-232 cable will be used for testing of GUI in this project before the field test with XBee connected to GPS.
