Abstract

An object positioning mechanism is a very important mechanism that actually be used in many industry such as in factory and other place where requires an object to be transferred to another location. The current object positioning mechanisms that are popularly available in the market today are limited to only pick and place an object within a small workspace. The purpose of this project is actually to look into another possible object positioning that is gaining popularity in the market and not only limit the use to pick and place object one place to another with a larger area of workspace, which is the tensioned cable object positioning system. In this project, a miniature prototype will be built to showcase the advantages and limitations that are keeping this type of object positioning mechanism away from the market. The idea here is fully make use of the area available above the workspace, most of the time empty to move that certain object and to do this I used 4 electric motor(servo motor) to imitate a real motor to pull cable to keep the object suspended in the air which the empty workspace for this mechanism. By synchronising the motors movement, the object can be move around the air freely and release it at its destination.
