Abstract
For a final year student, Final Year Project is a platform where students can perform skills learned during the whole study period in Tunku Abdul Rahman University College. This final year project include project planning, project implementation, technical writing and also oral presentation to prepare the students with enough skills before they step into working environment in the future. The title for our final year project is Semi-Automated Multipurpose Vegetable Slicing Machine. The purpose of fabricating this Semi-Automated Multipurpose Vegetable Slicing Machine is to ease the users in ingredient preparation and to perform multiple functions within a single machine. Base on the survey conducted with 40 participants, mainly food stall owner, result shown that functionality of the machine is the most important criteria in our project. Our prototype has 2 different compartments; one is for crushing and rolling process and another one is for slicing process. For the crushing and rolling compartment, it consists of 3 rollers; 2 flat surface rollers and 1 rough surface roller. For the slicing compartment, it consists of 2 blade installed rollers. All these compartments can be easily operated by an adjustable speed motor. In a nut shell, our prototype is easily operated, low cost, sustainable and time saving.
