Abstract

The main objective of this final year project is to design and fabricate a pair of electric powered shoes. The function of the shoes is to allow the user to be travel along freely using a remote controller. The concept of the project is generated by combining both the roller skates and the remote control car toys. The theory of design is applied in the project, Solidworks program is used to design the parts and components of the project. The design of the project is then evaluated and redesign as per necessary. As the prototype required high strength, durability, and low cost, the main material used for the project is aluminium. The project is made up of few different parts, which are the main motor, steering part, base and cover, and electronic circuit. Most of the parts are machined and done in the college workshop. However, the electronic circuit is done by the project partner, which is then assemblied to the main structure. The project is divided into 2 parts which is the mechanical and electronic design. In order to complete this part, some researches were carried out to select the most appropriate materials and components for the project. At the end of the project, a pair of electric powered roller were fabricated and tested. Although there are rooms for improvement, all the objectives are considered fulfilled.
