Abstract

The idea of flying machines that could land and take off from water which known as seaplane was invented in 1910, a huge amount of research was poured into it until it stagnated in 1950. Seaplane is aircraft with floats instead of wheels, designed to land on and take off from water rather than land. Therefore, the float component of this aircraft playing a major role during landing. Float will experience impact force factor and stability after landing. This project is to design and simulate the float component performance to determine the sustainability for impact force during landing. Throughout various studies and research of journal, a float will be designed and simulated using Solidwork and Matlab. The designed float is used to determine the condition during and after impact. Stress-strain result will be obtained and analysed to determine the performance of the float component as well. Besides, this project is also to determine the condition of seawater flow during landing run and stability during resting state.
