Abstract

The objective of this project is to design and fabricate an automated labelling machine which required by customers. Besides, we also learn the technique to fabricate an industry machine where the machine able to help small and medium industry to replace their label work from manual labour to automated label. Other than that, the flexibility of the machine are also is one of the main objective in this project. The reason of carry out this objective is because the current problem that occur in small industry is their production rate decrease and not accuracy or constant label on the fixed position of the sticker. One of the example is Everyday Brush Sdn.Bhd. Moreover, the flexibility and cost of machine that available in market is another problem to SME’s industry. Therefore, we aim to design and fabricate automated labelling machine with low cost and flexibility to help small and medium industry. A preliminary concept will be sketch by hand and discuss together with our supervisor Mr. Lim Say Yong and Dean Dr. Yip Mum Wai. Once get approve from supervisor, the design will be draw by Solidworks with the detail of dimension. Most of the material that we use is aluminium and the material will be purchase by ourselves such as screw, coupling, linear rod, nut and etc. Drilling, lathe, milling, cutting, and CNC machine will become our main part to machining our material. 3D printer that available in our University College also is a machine that we use to print such as rod to save more time in fabrication. Last, automated labelling machine had separate into two parts which is label dispenser system and conveyor system. After both part had finish fabricate, then will assembly together and install Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) into the machine when the programming, wiring and connection of electrical parts had done by us. Testing and troubleshooting of the machine will be done by us to make sure all problem can be solve.
