Abstract

Every bunch of fruit cutting has fallen to the ground from high of tree and during harvest time it will approximately 5% of loose fruits fall separated on the ground. If the loose fruits were not collected, it means that loss of income. This is a group project, which carried out by two students with different project scope. This project has been divided into two parts, the first part is design and material selection as well as the second part is a simulation and costing meanwhile the fabrication process will be handled by a group. The design and simulation are done by the 3D CAD Design Software Solidworks. This loose fruits collector was designed as a simple mechanism and this mechanism to let the user to collect the loose fruit in an easier way in palm oil estate instead of using the conventional methods. The targeted market of this mechanism is the owner of the palm oil estate. Fabrication of prototype for the loose fruits collector is to proof that the mechanism can work. Thus, this mechanism can help to reduce the back pain of worker and collect the loose fruit in the more efficient and easier way.
