Abstract
To increase the safety of an aircraft, particularly reduce the mishap risk during landing, an important factor to be considered is the hydroplaning phenomenon. This research focuses on the reduction of viscous hydroplaning for a low speed landing case through computation method. Several factors that are affecting viscous hydroplaning are discussed in this research and the methods of reducing it through analytical method is scrutinised. The mathematical equations that are involved in this research will then be applied to the computation method and the results will be compared with past results from different researches. The use of computer programming software has been an important approach to ensure smooth calculations are done more effectively and efficiently. Hence, this research will generate relevant programming codes for the required parameters that are related to the viscous hydroplaning. The hydroplaning speeds and approach speeds of the chosen Boeing models which are Boeing 737-400 and Boeing 777-300ER are discussed extensively. The solutions to reduce viscous hydroplaning for the mentioned models during low speed landing have been proposed. Besides, the theories, concepts and principles will be verified with graphs and in-depth discussions.
