The main problem in a pewter factory is the demand of their pewter tea leaf container is more than its supply. This scenario is unpromising as there will be disadvantage and drawbacks to the manufacturers. Therefore, a case study is to be conducted of a tea leaf container manufacturing line. In the current situation, the factory has productivity issue on the tea leaf container where they are unable to meet the customer demands. Therefore, a study has to be done to increase the production rate on the manufacturing line. There are a few important aspects that will be studied and discussed. That includes productivity how ways to handle it in a manufacturing firm, cycle time and how to measure it. Besides, the pewter tea leaf container specification and all the manufacturing process in pewter industry is discussed. The detailed study of current process flow is done including proposal and literature review, study of current process flow, identifying problems and bottleneck station, analyze machine utilization and process flow. Then a detailed modification is done to improve the production rate. There are a few steps that had been done to improve the cycle time. They include introducing new machine of auto oil buffing machine, improvement of process flow, and then reduce the cycle time of some particular processes, conduct engineering analysis on the new designed machine, evaluate improvement of new process flow, and discussion of the results and simulation project. The limitation and the recommendation found in the project is also been analyze. Furthermore, the contribution of the project to the industry is also been discussed.
