Abstract

In this study, Delmia Quest software simulation was used to simulate Hotayi Electronic (M) Sdn. Bhd. production line as a virtual factory simulation to validate an optimum production manufacturing efficiency. The aim of this study is to validate the feasibility of a surface mount technology (SMT) line simulation by comparing against the historical data obtain from the company given using Delmia Quest software simulation, to provide a framework for analyzing and modeling detailed workflow and to interact between Delmia Quest and the algorithm. The first chapter explains the problem background, objectives, problem statement and Hotayi Electronic (M) Sdn. Bhd. company background. The following chapter studies upon a literature review on manufacturing industries, manufacturing simulations, industry 4.0 and more. The third chapter proposed the methodology in this project and the project research planning. For the final chapter on conclusion, the project aims toward validating the feasibility of a surface mount technology (SMT) line simulation by comparing against the historical data obtain from the company given using Delmia Quest software simulation. A proposed methodology on Chapter 3, provides a procedure framework for analyzing and modeling detailed workflow generated. For future documentations and research, this could contribute into the development or integration of an interface that updates system parameters among software. Delmia Quest simulation software is feasible to simulate the production line. The input data of process cycle time, element selection, part class creation was able to present a framework and modelling detail. By merging of all production line into a single production line achieve the simplification of methodology.
