Abstract
Due to the rapid advancement of technology, smartphones are omnipresent throughout the entire human life, substituting the traditional bulky computer for everyone to enhance and boost up their productivity and daily tasks. Therefore, to provide continuous electrical power supply to essential electrical devices, a portable hydropower generator could be helpful in places where there is no source of electricity but with flowing water nearby. This project is to design and fabricate a Pico Dual-Turbine Hydropower Generator which is portable and user-friendly. The idea was to enhance the existing design of the portable hydropower generator that failed to create a new market due to some design problems (Zhou, 2017). Therefore, the purpose of this research is to reconstruct and enhance the design of portable hydropower generator which aim for improving its efficiency as compared to existing product. The research scope covers the site characteristics, selection of turbine, selection of suitable generator, design of blades, and design of protective casing’s profile. With all the raw data obtain from research, simulation can be carried out to find out the best design for this project as well as an estimation of the total power output that could generate from this prototype. After simulation is done, prototype can be printed with 3D printer to carry out testing at applicable sites (Sungai Pisang). Through the testing, it has been found that the total output from the prototype is between 5
