Abstract

Roll forming is relatively important in today’s highly competitive market. This due to high productivity which will lead to high cost due to downtime or part defects. Finite Element Analysis was used to simulate the material behavior during the roll forming process under a multistage process. The simulation were conducted and optimum setting of the simulation will be defined. This study produces a methodology which can be consider as a guideline to show the parameters for simulation to produce accurate result while it’s being used to compare with an actual example yet this study also able to establish that the numerical analysis using FEA approach able to close the gap with the experimental analysis. Analysis and comparison between three solvers were done to produce an optimum setting for the final simulation. Reaction force, spring back, stress and strain of metal sheet were studied and compared.
