Abstract
A backhoe loader is a common machine that can do multiple assignments for construction. The condition of the work environment could be extremely harsh. So, the design of the structure of the backhoe must be able to make sure safety in any condition with the minimum weight and cost. The finite element analysis was used in the design. The bucket capacity, digging force which is breakout force and arm crowd force, the static force by considering the reaction force of the joints will be done. Comparison of the numerical and theoretical normal stress was done to validate the finite element model. The simulation is done by SOLIDWORKS for the stress analysis and the displacement analysis. The optimization for the structure is done. A mass reduction for the main component that will be the focus in this paper which are the bucket, arm, boom and links.
