Abstract

A rise in intraocular pressure is a concern in people with ocular hypertension, as it is one of the risk factors for Glaucoma. High intraocular pressure is caused by an imbalance in the production of a fluid in the eye, called aqueous humor. To investigate the elevation in intraocular pressure, the nature of the influencing factors have to be studied. The main objective of this research is to determine the factors affecting the value of intraocular pressure within the eye. This will be done by varying the values of the porosity of trabecular meshwork, permeability of trabecular meshwork, and the production rate of aqueous humor. A proper study on the influencing factors to the intraocular pressure has to be done in order to control the amount of Glaucoma patient around the world. With ANSYS, flow pattern of aqueous humor and the heat distribution across the anterior segment of an eye are also included in this research.
