Abstract

There are shopping mall or stores that appear as mushroom after rain in Malaysia. Carrying shopping loads is always one of the major concern among the public as it would be a burden to transport along the journey. There are different types of shopping carrier that are introduced to resolve this issue. Carts, bags, and simple carrier are the common seen shopping carrier. However, an ideally shopping carrier should fulfil the primary criteria on portability, space occupied, load capacity, comfort ability and effort required during usage. Research and comparison among different patent and carrier types on their performance has been done to come out with a new design of shopping carrier which fulfil the requirements mentioned. Autodesk Inventor 2023 is used in making engineering drawing for the design. The calculation of stress acting on the different parts of carrier is made and the performance on real life is analysed. This carrier design had achieved all the requirements mentioned above except the load capacity. The factors causing failure on load capacity are also determined and analysed.
