Abstract

Since the year 2018, Malaysia has seen a boom in motorbike delivery services. Riders that work in the motorbike delivery services usally mount their phones to their motorbikes using phone holders that are readily available on the maerket. The riders usally find that their smartphone lifespan is shorter than usual when used as for navigation on their bikes after a while. The Phone Holder with Shade project goal is to invent solutions based with deep study of the problem. The problem study looks into the problems that cause smartphones to wear out prematurely when used on most currrent motorbike phone holders. The problem study looks into how environmental factors can effect a smartphone when used on a motorbike. This problem solving methods such as Triz problem solving, Cause and Effect Chain Analysis diagram and Pugh’s Matrix are implemented to formulate solutions for the problems studied. The solutions are then implemented into the design of the Motorbike Phone Holder with Shade and a prototype is made to test the effectiveness of the designs with real life conditions testing. Lastly, xonsiderations towards environment, sustaianability, society and further development are consider troughout the Phone Mount with Shade’s design process
