Abstract

This project is aimed to develop a mini speech recognition room lock. A person’s voice may be recognised via speech recognition, which can be utilised to optimise work. This system is expected to be able to recognize the voice commands (trained and coded by the user using Arduino IDE software) input by the user using the microphone or android app to access the room lock. The purpose of this study is to determine the success rate of voice commands given by the speaker with the microphone distance of 5cm to 15cm to access the room lock using Voice Recognition Module V3. This research will use various languages such as English, Chinese and Malay. Furthermore, this study also targets to access the room lock using Bluetooth module and android app by determining the connectivity range where the distance of 2m to 12m are tested. The results show that the distance of the speaker with the microphone is inversely proportional to the success rate of the voice command using the Voice Recognition Module V3. To conclude, the Voice Recognition Module V3 operates well at a distance of 5cm whereas the maximum connectivity range of Bluetooth module HC-06 with the android app can be up to 10m
