Abstract
The default cloud ordering system for customers to send customised orders is often not reliable for the Tunku Abdul Rahman University College’s (TARUC’s) One Manufacturing Individualised Solution (OMIS). Hence, when the cloud ordering system is down, the customer will not be able to send the order to the OMIS manufacturing line to process and manufacture the required customised product. Furthermore, the default cloud ordering system housed is based on limited free subscriptions and will become inaccessible once the free usage hours are reached. Consequently, a localised Graphical User Interface (GUI) ordering system is developed for this OMIS manufacturing line. However, designing a local GUI ordering system that links and executes data transfer between the machines at each station of the TARUC’s OMIS production line is a difficult task. Hence, research is conducted to analyse the method of cloud ordering system sends the customised orders from the cloud to the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) master of the TARUC’s OMIS manufacturing line, as well as the approach taken by other researchers to deal with the issue of performing data communication between various types of machines
