Abstract
3D printing technology have been utilized in many industries. However, to get 3D printer into mass production is still a challenge due to the inefficient of 3D print removal. There is a limited number of 3D printers that come with automated part ejection system in the market. The objective of this project is to design and fabricate a machine or a system that can remove the printed part from the print bed automatically without breaking the part. One of the advantages of this research is that 3D printer can work automatically in a mass production without the need of an operator to manually remove the completed part. The project was carried out using Arduino and Solidworks. Solidworks is used to design and modify the prototype. Arduino is the microcontroller board that controls the automation of prototype. In this project, Arduino microcontroller executes the code that was fed and send instructions to the stepper motor to control the removal process. Automated part ejection system for 3D printer has been designed and fabricated. Trial test have been conducted and the objectives have been achieved. The result shown have solved the above problems. This research serves great purpose of further improvements related to automated part ejection system for 3D printer.
