Abstract

In this modern era, the used of Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming more and more. The traditional greenhouse is now replaced with the smart greenhouse. The smart greenhouse monitoring and irrigation system is used to provide an optimal condition for growth. The sensors used in this system are soil moisture sensor, temperature and humidity sensor. After that, the output devices used to give a respond according to the reading of the sensor are water pump and cooling fan. Next, an LCD display is used to show the percentage of soil moisture, temperature value, humidity value, condition of the water pump and condition of the cooling fan. The water pump is used to irrigate the plants when the percentage of soil moisture is lower than the threshold value. In addition, the cooling fan is used to lower the temperature of the greenhouse when the temperature is below the threshold value. After that, the data from the sensors are uploaded to the cloud of the IoT platform. With this, the users can monitor and control the condition of the greenhouse using their smart devices through the IoT platform.
