Abstract

Asset Administration Shell (AAS) system integration has been proposed in this research to integrate stations of the OMIS Mixed Juice Manufacturing Line within the RAMI 4.0 framework. The four RAMI 4.0 layers, which is Field Layer, Communication Layer, Information Layer, and Enterprise Layer are aimed to be integrated. Automation Markup Language (AutomationML) technology is suggested to build the AAS for the production line integration. OPC UA is the recommended communication standard for the RAMI 4.0 communication layer, and it will be used to develop the communication layer. The information layer is composed of workstation internal settings and product order information, while the field layer consists of the PLC on the manufacturing line. The enterprise layer is composed of OMIS Mixed Juice Order Form and the SQL database of the OMIS line. The primary objective of this research is to integrate all the stations of the manufacturing line into a single platform, regardless of the programming language, by defining AAS in AutomationML. In the last part of the proposed research, an experiment is conducted, and some performance measures are developed to assess the effectiveness of AutomationML integration on a PLC manufacturing line.
