Abstract
Students and children play an important role in every country, as they represent the next generation and future of a country when they grew up. Which is why, it is important to provide a safe learning environment for them and ensure their safety at any cost. With the advancement of hardware and new algorithm created, license plate recognition system is getting better and more reliable in terms of speed and accuracy. The main objective of this project is to create a security system in kindergarten using license plate recognition system to detect suspicious or blacklisted vehicles that passby the kindergarten. When comes to the license plate recognition security system, the core feature of the system may break into multiple process. The process includes image pre-processing, license plate localization, license plate segmentation, and license plate recognition. After the license plate was recognized successfully, the data will be stored into a database and go through the post-process of license plate recognition system. In this project, the focus will be more on the post-process, where the extracted license plate number will be used to compare with the pre-recorded database of blacklisted or VIP license plate number and looking for a match. If a match was found, the security system will then be triggered to alert the security guards or person in charge.
