Abstract

The aim of this dissertation is to build a tomato automation cultivation system in household usages. The reason will be to increase the tomato production, water saving, increase the interesting of the people about the agriculture and increase the healthy to the people. The problem statement of this project will be increase the water efficiency and decrease the tomato growth period. Indirectly, the agriculture was innovated by adding the technology. The methodology will be using the Arduino UNO as the microprocessor to control the system and used to collect the data from sensors. The data record was importance information to build an automation system. The Real Time Clock module, the MicroSD Shield module will be used to save the data in real time and shown in LCD screen. The model design will be in rectangle shape to growth the tomato plant. The software design is to program the device in the automation system to make sure the tomato plant will able to growth in the machine. In the result and discussion, the data of the system was collected and analysed. The data of weather and the machine environment data had been recorded and the soil moisture had been investigated from wet soil to dry soil. During the observation of the machine performance, some disease had occurred and these diseases might be killing the tomato plant. However, these diseases had been solved using microcontroller. The limitation will be the tomato plant will not be bloom and bear fruit. There were had some condition for the tomato to bear fruit and need more deep research or work with the botanist to investigate the tomato bear fruit condition. Besides, some of the device malfunction but had solve and there was some potential disease had to be solve and prevent in the system to keep the tomato plant in the machine healthier. In conclusion, the system will help to growth tomato in the automation system and the current technology can be added in the planting process of the tomato and the collected data of tomato growth can help the agriculture 4.0 in tomato field. Outcome result will be the system environment will be match with the good weather environment. Therefore, the tomato can be growth in the machine and the period to growth the plant will be speed up and constant.
