Abstract

This quantitative study aims to examine the determinants that affecting university student mobile payment adoption intention in Malaysia. To better understand the university students’ intention to adopt mobile payment services in the Malaysian Landscape, this study focuses on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT). By using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT), factors such as perceived credibility, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, perceived enjoyment, perceived risk, security risk, privacy risk, financial risk, promotional activities, attitude and resistance will be analysed. In order to collect the data, this research utilises 7-point Likert-scale questionnaires. In addition, the survey will be distributed online and the non-probability sampling method will be used. To examine the data that was acquired from the Malaysian population, SPSS will be used.
