Abstract

In recent decades, the global economy has thrived but often at the expense of the environment. Sustainable development is regarded as a contemporary development concept that offers a proactive and pragmatic approach to addressing the challenges of meeting developmental needs while protecting the environment. The concept of sustainable development has gained significant attention in recent years, with organisations across various industries seeking to integrate sustainable practices into their operations. Whereas leadership plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable development within organisations. The main objective of this research is to examine the relationship between ethical leadership and sustainable development in Malaysia. This research adopts quantitative research method and survey questionnaire is used to collect data. The results of this research indicated that ethical leadership has a significant positive relationship with sustainable development with employee motivation as the moderator. This research provides an enhanced understanding of the significance of ethical leadership as a factor that influences sustainable development.
