Abstract

The basis of this project is to implement suitable algorithms for both image extraction and particle characterization. The algorithms are created based on the studies on particle characterization using digital image analysis. The techniques used in order to perform image processing and characterization include segmentation, edge detection, shape factors, parameters, image matching and so on. The overall approach is to implement an algorithm that is robust enough to tackle the current problem faced in digital image processing and produce high efficiency. The findings may be useful in certain aspect in digital image processing for particle characterization.
