Abstract

Traditional irrigation often relies on manual human intervention or timer-based systems, which results in inefficientwater usage and suboptimal crop yields. The project proposes a solution to resolve this issue by creating an irrigation system powered by renewable energy. The solution involves creating an automatic hydroponics irrigation system powered by solar energy. The system uses hydroponic practices which had their problems reduced and their advantages maximized. The proposed method’s effectiveness is tested by observation across 7 days, from Monday to Friday. An experiment to access the system’s capability to run without any solar input is conducted. The results show that the amount of power generated is greatly affected by the amount of solar energy available, with external forces like rain and clouds affecting the effectiveness greatly. In conclusion, the proposed method had been successfully demonstrated to effectively address the issues in inefficient water usage and suboptimal crop yields. The limitation of this project is the developed solution has only been tested with weaker components. Future studies can focus on the ways to further improve the effectiveness.
